I have been converting Beatport AIFFs to FLAC. I make copies of the AIFFs so that I can edit their tags before conversion.
Yesterday I found a file with no tags. Trying to add information to any of Edit ID-Tag's default tags fails, as does creating new tags. I finally converted the file as-is, manually changing the file path information -- good feature, that -- and was able to add tags to the resulting FLAC without any trouble.
This was a single file, so it wasn't a big problem; however, there would be some issues for a file from an "album" or intended to be part of a compilation. Is there anything I could have done to enable tags on the AIFF?
