Bitdepth and Resampler DSPs - can I leave them enabled?

I convert a fair number of hi-res FLAC files to AAC to play in my car, and of course I use the Bitdepth and Resampler DSP tools to do that.

When I'm converting 16/44.1 FLAC files, I remove those tools. Is this necessary? If I leave them enabled, will they just ignore the CD-quality input, or should they in fact be removed from the chain?

You can safely leave them in, no action is taken if the source and destination frequency, or bit depth match.
