Audio Conversion to MP3 creates empty space

When I convert an audio file from let's say WAV to MP3 I get an empty track that is the exact length of the original audio only it's blank. So when I open the mp3 file in an editor I can see the original but right where the original ends the empty track begins. So for an hour long file I get an hour of audio followed by an hour of blank space. This messes up all my bulk conversions.

    Thanks in advance.

Look on the DSP tags section, make sure there are no effects listed there.

Are you certain the wave files are tagged?
