loss through resampling

my renderer (NP30) can't play tracks sampled at 88.2kHz! Would there be a loss in audio quality re-sampling it to 96kHz with dbpoweramp or would it be recommendable to down-sample it to 44.1

How are you serving audio to the NP30?

... it may be possible to resample the 88.2kHz tracks on the fly.
