dbpoweramp won't work for this Newbie

Using Win95, I downloaded and installed all the programs from your update page. When I try to rip from cd to temp file, the program stops and gives me this explanation.

MUSICCONVERTER executed an invalid instruction in
module LAME_ENC.DLL at 0137:01b42181.

Any help with resolving this would be appreciated.
