Does dbpoweramp use the latest apple aac encoder?

I recently purchased a song that I have the original source (wav) of. I purchased this song from two sources (once from google play store-lame320CBR and one from apple music store 256aac). I analyzed the spectral view of the two files. The aac version (from apple) visually matched almost exactly with the original wav file, while the 320cbr lame file from google was pretty good, but it wasn't exactly matching. My reasoning for doing this was due to the music from apple sounding a touch better and more fuller than the google file. I could be wrong and I thought I was crazy so I decided to view the spectral forms of each.

Anyway, my question is: Does dbpoweramp uses the latest apple aac codec (the one that apple uses for their aac songs they sell)?

    Thanks!

Hi Spoon, when you say Apple Encoder does that include the ALAC encoder as well? If that's the case, hasn't dBpa been utilising the open source codec provided by Apple all along?

The ALAC encoder and decoder has been the latest Apple one for a long time.
