    Problem converting to mp3

I am experiencing a problem with conversion of mp3 files.

Whatever format I choose to convert the files, it only converts to VBR 160 format. Does anyone have the same trouble?

Windows or mac version? If you do the conversion, then reload music converter does it show the settings you chose previously, or defaults to vbr 160?

Windows version. The problem occurs only with mp3 conversion, if I choose another format besides mp3 it converts well and when I reload the program it shows the last chosen codec. But with mp3 no matter the format I choose it only converts to vbr 160 and when I reload the program it continues to show vbr 160 as last choice.

Which Windows version do you have?

It sounds like something is stopping dBpoweramp from writing to the registry which it needs to do to save settings. Security essentials would not do this, but if your Windows was 'hardened' it could limit applications running correctly.
