Applying HDCD DSP

I've already ripped my entire music CD collection in uncompressed flac without the HDCD DSP effect, only ReplayGain Track & Album. But would also like to have a second copy of each with the HDCD DSP effect for use on my phone on the microSD card in it. Would simply using the converter with the HDCD DSP effect enabled on the tracks be the exact same thing as if I ripped them with it enabled?
