I haven't read (and understood) the article in full yet, but it appears to be true in the article, when certain versions of J River MediaCenter, were used to playback the flac and wav files.

The world is full of gullible people willing to spend $1,000s of dollars for a "special" ethernet cable. And there are lots of "audiophools" that deny the science of digital audio (and refuse to use the scientific method to do valid comparisons). Or in short, to quote P.T. Barnum, "There's a sucker born every minute."
