    Hi Y'all... & a couple a questions to boot

:komisch12 Cheers all. I have contributed to this forum long enough as Unregistered. I never join forums, eschew chats, abhor ICQ etc. Yet, you guys are toooo cool, and I love my DMC/ DAP.

So, (chug, chug) Does anyone know the specifics of the professional frequency conversion (how much slower vs. how much better)? Also the Slow & Accurate Ripping feature (how much slower vs. how much better)? & the difference between the two options? I've played with them a bit, but I can't tell, and as I tend to want the very best quality, I usually leave both options on.

Also, what exactly is the "Smart Formatting" function under the FreeDB options in the Audio CD Input DMC? (whew!)

    Spoon, you rock. :komisch7:
(I'll get tired of these smilies pretty soon) :supersmil

P.S. where is the doobie toking smilie?

The professional freq conversion gives quite an audiable difference of audio quality, especially the lower the frequency. If you have CDs and everying is stored 44.1KHz then that function will not be used.

You are best with 'Slow & Accurate' off, it is in there for old CD drives.

Smart Formatting would take something like MADoNNA and format it to Madonna.
