1....when i use the settings for the lame conversion as follows :
channels : as source bit rate : vbr 192-256 frequency : as source
then why the hell i get the output as "joint stereo "
because the default channel for audio cd is stereo mode i think ?

2. what is the option " Disable Bit Reservoir " under variable bit rate
options means ? what is the need of bits like private , original ?

It defaults to joint stereo, because I have heard compelling arguments that even at high bit rates - joint stereo can give higher quality then stereo (more bits to encode with).

Don't really know about those options apart from Original, any Sony product doesn't seem to import any mp3 unless original is set.
