    How to rename files?

    Good morning,

althought being a long time dBpa user I have an awkward question: how can I simply rename files in place, so that they fullfill my naming convention? The background of my question is, that I have some bigger directories with tagged dsf files, which do not match my naming convention. The directory names and structure are ok. I tried to use "'Arrange Audio", but this DSP wants to move the files. This fails in case of using the same target directory. I just want to rename the files in place only. What am I missing?

    [origdrive][origpath]\{your naming}

Would that not keep in the same folders?

      Hey Spoon,

unfortunately that doesn't work. I get an error message:

      Code:
      Error converting to [Arrange Audio], 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 Nothing's Changed.dsf' to 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 Nothing's Changed.IGNORE'
      Error Moving File 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 Nothing's Changed.dsf' to '\D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 Nothing's Changed.dsf(Win:123)
Even with a real renaming it doesn't work:

      Code:
      Error converting to [Arrange Audio], 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 xxxNothing's Changed.dsf' to 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 xxxNothing's Changed.IGNORE'
      Error Moving File 'D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 xxxNothing's Changed.dsf' to '\D:\Linn Records; Super Audio Collection Vol. 8 (SACD - 6ch - DSD64)\01 Nothing's Changed.dsf(Win:123)
I think the problem is the attempt to move the file. It doesn't even work if I check the option to overwrite the files. Maybe we need an additional DSP option or DSP for a real renaming in place.

          Plain and simple:

          Code:
          [origdrive][origpath]\[IFMULTI][disc]-[][track] [title]

            Root path to:

(the actual root of the drive with the files)

            Arrangement to:

            [origpath]\[IFMULTI][disc]-[][track] [title]
