I am using Win 7. I have been using dbpoweramp for well over 10 years and had no problems. The new program is not converting music files that are 360mp to 128 mp. They are on the same hard drive. Why isn't this working?
Downloaded and paid for new version and can't convert

I gave you everything I have. There are no error messages. The files do not convert from 360 to 128.Comment

So you right click on a existing mp3 file >> Convert To
Then on the encoding page you select 128kbps? where is it set to write the files to? (in naming), you click convert, and it takes time to convert but no file written?Comment

Microsoft does not support Windows 7 (predecessor of Windows (EoL) 8 and Windows 10 (EoL in October)), which is EoL since January 2020. What's the version of your dBpa? Where are your source files stored and where is the destination of your conversion? Do you have write privileges to that destination? Did you test the source files?

When you convert does it ask to overwrite the original?,
if not, do the conversion, then do the conversion again and it will show where the files are being written.Comment

The version was downloaded 2 days ago, version r17.7 registered. The source file is on the installed hard drive, as are the destination files. Yes I have write permissions and yes the files were tested before trying to convert. And yes it asks to overwrite original file and I said yes.Comment

Your first message states you have paid for the new version, yet you mention using R17.7 which is over a decade old, why not use the R2025 version?Comment

Here is what you need to do (as a test):
For one 320kbps right click >> Convert to
Select mp3 (Lame) (I assume you are writing mp3?)
Set the bit rate at 64kbps.
Click the box below 'Output To' and select Edit Dynamic naming, type into the 'Dynamic Naming' box:
[origpath]\[origfilename]-converted
Click ok, and Ok to convert.
You should have two files, are they both the same size?Comment
