Metadata query: Adding date, month and year of album release while ripping CD

I have simply been unable to do this in my 17.7 version. Everytime I put the dates in, with or without spaces or dash, it doesn't save and reverts to the year of release. 'Force no date on year' is unchecked. Please tell me the correct method/format to add the exact date of release.

Where do you see it revert? in CD Ripper?

no, after ripping in the file. it doesn't save the tag changes. I mean, I add the data while ripping, but after ripping I notice it shows only the year. Then I re-edit, but it doesn't save. The year remains.

Which format are you ripping to? it is possible the format tagging cannot have a date on the year.

That will not support a date other than year.
