    Error message

Hi All - I recently purchased FLAC files from a site and upon downloading I attempted to both validate that the files were good by simply converting from FLAC to FLAC, and then separately attempted to convert to AAC for use on an Apple device. I keep getting an error for a single file, as listed below. Does anyone have a sense for what might be going on here?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

This is the error when converting from FLAC to FLAC:

Error converting to FLAC, 'Downloads/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac' to '/Users/Music/dBpoweramp/AAC/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac'
Encountered 'FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_OGG_ERROR' in FLAC File '/Users/Downloads/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac'
Encountered 'FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_METADATA' in FLAC File '/Users/Downloads/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac'
Encountered 'FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_METADATA' in FLAC File '/Users/Downloads/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac'

Thanks is the error when converting from FLAC to AAC:

Error converting to Apple AAC, 'Downloads/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.flac' to '/Users/Music/dBpoweramp/AAC/ph040813d1_01_Check_1.m4a'

Looks like a corrupted file, even the metadata cannot be read.

That’s what I’ve told the support rep from where I purchased, but she’s insisting that she can play the file. I’m not technically savvy enough to be able to speak to that, but I’ve never had this happen using the Music Converter on dozens of downloaded FLAC albums and hundreds of CDs ripped to FLAC.

Try redownloading the file, perhaps you have not got it all.
