    Change Tag without reconversion

Is it possible to modify a tag (ie album) in an existing file "m4a" without reconversion ?
    Perhaps with CoreConverter.exe ?

i have already made the conversion from flac to m4a

Select file >> right click >> Edit ID Tags (you can select more than one file at a time and do this).

Thank's, but i have 1'300 CD ... and 17'000 files ... all in FLAC on a NAS. The generation is ok with the Naim HDX.
I want to manage a library for Ipod,
I can generate a batch file for converting new cd's, but sometimes i want to change a tag

I'm confused then. What exactly doesn't work with Spoon's suggestion. Perhaps we're not understanding what you're trying to do. I have 6 or 7 thousand CDs all ripped to FLAC, but sometimes want to modify the tags on, say, one CD. Please clarify your objective.

edit: perhaps you're trying to edit all your tags in a single batch. That's possible too. Just load up the files in dbpa, and convert to "ID TAG UPDATE" DSP and change the tags on all 17,000 in one batch. This will modify all the tags without reconverting. You need to download and install this utility codec/dsp from 'codec central'.

Ok, the limitation with the Naim HDX is the order of music with selection of "genres", "albums" ....
The CD's can only sorted by the name of the album.
So, i have changed the name of the albums with the name of the artist ans the year. For example : Dylan, Bob- 1966, Blonde on Blonde (with the complete collection, the year is important ... ). That's perfect for me ...

But for an Ipod or my car, this name is too long. I have to remove the name of the artist.
I made a program to do that, and i can convert the file by date (i generate a .BAT file). It's work fine for new files, also for the tag "Album".

BUT, after conversion, i don't know how to change the tag without reconverting existenting files with a .BAT file and a command-line ... Not only one ou two ...

Aha. So you need to extract a portion of the album tag field and have that become the new album field. There is likely a way to do this in dbpa, but I'm not sure (someone who's a power user of ID TAG PROCESSING DSP will have to chime in). I know people do this exact sort of thing in a batch format all the time in mp3tag (mp3tag is misnamed, as it handles FLAC, mp3, m4a, ALAC, ogg, etc....anything but WAV). You'll need to use an ACTION that will extract a portion of the ALBUM field and make that the "new" album field. It requires use of regedit syntax. I'm not a regedit person, but there are are few people on the mp3tag forum that will help you with the exact syntax if you post and lay out what exactly you are trying to do (what the format of the current album field is and what you want to change to). Giving examples like your Dylan example will be helpful. See:
