    FLAC to ALAC conversion

I'm trying to have my iTunes library in ALAC format now. However, some download sites don't have this format. Knowing I can easily convert lossless to lossless, I've downloaded FLAC files from sites like 7digital and converted them to ALAC. But when ripping CDs for use in iTunes, I use the recommended DSP Effect (as per the Guide): Track, Album Gain & iTunes Album Normalization (which as far as I can tell, doesn't change the files, just how they're played in iTunes). So should I be using this tag when converting my downloaded FLAC files to ALAC? The few dozen I've done so far were all done without any tag. If so, do I need to convert the original FLAC downloads again, using this DSP Effect? Or a different one? Please advise.

Yes you would add the same DSP effect whilst converting.

So I guess I should convert the FLAC files again?

OK, thanks. Luckily I don't have too many to do.
