Boo hoo, where did all my files go?

After some 24 hours of solid file convertion (Flac -> Mp4) and an automatic shutdown(ATX) I've just lost all ~900 files. :(

Not a sign of them, the destination folder is empty and I've searched every drive and could find no sign.

140GB free on the disk and no errors with a scan.

Has anybody seen this before? Is it just too many files, I had another convertion running on a different machine for ~600 files and they are okay.

I'm hoping it was just a fluke as I've started it up again this morning with the same list.

WinXPSp1, music is on an external FireWire drive and was using the lastest dMC, PowerPack, Flac and MP4 (slow version).

Odd, for there to be no files - I was thinking it might have crashed the computer, not sure what happened, try converting just 10 files see where they go.
