ERROR -- CODEC required to compressed could not be opened

Hi... I just reinstalled the music converter dMC for the second time.

I'm getting the message as below when I attempt to use the program.

The CODEC required to compress 'P:\alt.binaries.CHRISTMAS\A Very Special Christmas 2 - 03 - Luther Vandross - The Christmas Song.mp3.TEMP.mp3' could not be opened.

Looking in the program file Lame 3.87 dll is included in the program.

The first time I reinstalled, it worked for a while but quit. I reinstalled again and it worked only for a few files, then nothing.

Now nothing

dMC R9 should come with a 3.90 atleast? try converting to just P:\a.mp3 (click the rename button). It could be the settings you are using, certain bitrates and frequencies do not work together.

I tried various files with various settings, but nothing.

I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem.

MY config:
Althlon 2600, WXP, WinAmp, onboard soundcard. Elite Group board, 512 DDR.....

Right click shows dbpowerAmp in menu using Explorer. Normal selections appear in menu box. I have used a wide variety of settings standard, fast, extreeme setting etc.

Did a full uninstall, reinstall

no luck........

Try the latest Beta version in the Beta section of this forum.

By the way what is P drive? Is it a hard disk?
