Hi guys
I recently bought a new Windows 10 computer. I transferred all my iTunes library over to it. All seems good except for some reason Explorer refuses to show the m4a thumbnail/album art for the many hundreds of songs. If I play them within Windows Media Player or iTunes the art exists and looks good. It's just the explorer view that is an issue. I can see album art on the folder preview but if I double click the folder containing m4a songs then it's just the standard windows music icon showing. Pretty irritating on a new machine which cost quite a bit. Strangely m4p protected files don't seem to have this problem. I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out what to do. I wondered if DB Power Amp can help here? Should Windows 10 be natively displaying the thumbnail or does it need some help? Is there a suggestion as to what I can do/install to maybe fix this? I have seen DB Power Amp referenced on a few google threads. I am prepared to give it a try but I am quite sensitive about my iTunes music library and do not want to risk unbalancing the iTunes Music Cloud Library that syncs across a number of our iOS devices. From an apple device perspective everything looks good but it's the Explorer Thumbnail view I am desperate to fix.
I also have a Windows 7 laptop and on here all the m4a music files show the thumbnails just fine. So it's puzzling as to why the new Windows 10 refuses to. Maybe I don't need DB Power Amp and something else is more suitable. I am open to suggestions.
Many thanks,
Wayne
