The FLAC files I want the volume standardized have already been converted to MP3's.
From (file) track to (file) track, the volume substantially fluctuates (as can be expected). How can I keep the volume fluctuation from happening (at least as much as it does) and make the volume as similar as possible between files?
I would like to do this without changing the overall highs and lows of a specific track and thereby changing the perceived musical content of the file. But if that is the result of leveling the volume between 100's of files, so they will all play at a similar volume, then so be it.
Because I'm dealing with existing MP3's &/or creating new files (if I must) from my FLAC files, while applying the necessary adjustments, I don't have any reservations in permanently changing the files.
I just want to listen to my MP3 music in the car and other low rez avenues, without constantly needing to turn the volume UP &/or DOWN.
I've read the several ReplayGain and Volume Normalize posts. But I am unsure what to select and what the best settings are, to normalize the volume on players that don't utilize ReplayGain data. Some advice and specific settings, would be appreciated.
