codec can't be opened

Just downloaded dMC and when I try to convert a .wav to .mp3 I get this message:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\...\EFT_Web audio files\Anger2.mp3.TEMP.mp3' could not be opened

Not sure what that temp.mp3 is about, unless it's something dMC creates and then tries to compress. My file is named anger2.wav, converting to anger2.mp3

Any suggestions? I downloaded and installed it a second time: no change.

Some mp3 compression settings do not work together, try different bitrates, or frequencies.
