WAV file Metadata?

Greetings - really glad I found dbpoweramp.

I've placed metadata in a WAV file, including album art and lyrics. However, this doesn't show up in iTunes when I open the "Get Info" window.

Is there any way to get metadata into a WAV file that will show up in iTunes and on iOS devices?

iTunes cannot read metadata from any wave file, you are best with AIFF.

The only issue is - Apple Lossless won't play in Windows Media Player 12.

I need a file that will play in WMP 12 without having to add any codecs, etc., because these files are being sold and it has to be dead simple for people to play them. We don't want to ask people to install a codec or another player, because a lot of the people are not at all tech savvy.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but people who use Windows Media Player aren't all that tech savvy. It's a very intrusive program that can easily wreak havoc on metadata and album art in your music files. If you really want files that are "easy" in both iTunes and Windows Media Player, you should probably just go with mp3 or aac.

If it needs to be lossless, both programs support AIFF. (Are you sure WMP won't play m4a files? I thought it could, but I'll take your word for it if it doesn't. I haven't used it in ages.)
