    Converting .mpc Files

I have received some audio files with the ending .mpc and there is no way to find a codec to even play them back. How do I convert them to be able to play them back on my PC? mp3 and .wav work fine, but not .mpc.... tried to rename them, but no change.

Does anyone have an idea of how to resolve this problem?

P.S.: there is a way to burn them with Nero Burning Rom by first downloading the following dll and transfering this dll to the Nero programm folder.

However, the burning speed has to be quiet low to avoid a burn underrun because the reading velocity of the to be burned file is low, since Nero has to do all the work of converting the mpc files into wav on the fly... Note: in my case, only my cd writer drive itself can handle the play back of the resulting audio cd in .wav format with a reasonable error correction rate. My DVD drive has a hard time reading the burned result... maybe converting .mpc to .wav.... causes the Nero engine some real bad headache.

You can also get the MPC plugin for nero at this site.

A long time ago this website used to be an official point of distribution for two cool pieces of software. There are still a lot of back links pointing to these URLs and people clicking on them, so this is how things stand today. HC Encoder HC Encoder is a

The MusePack Source is now closed! so I never got to see what might have been there.

I have the musepack codec so I can play them but
I am interested in converting mpc to mp3 as well.

is there a codec to convert them coming?

              Re: Converting .mpc Files

The mpc codec both encodes and decodes so all you should need is an mp3 codec (which you should already have) to convert your mpc files to mp3 with dMC. Because both mpc and mp3 are lossy formats, you will get better results if you re-rip the original material for the mpc files to mp3. However, I have done mpc to mp3 conversions for mp3 discs I make for my car and they turn out ok.

how do you convert the mpc's?
on most music file types i get a "convert" option with right click.
i don't get that with mpc files.

                TIA
