Power Pack Music Removal and Voice removal

I have a registered power pack and when I choose to do a music removal or a voice removal when converting, it never works. It starts converting and then says something about a doctor and exits. I always try playing the new song but either there's no file to play or the music/voices are still part of the song. What should i do?

doctor? can you post the exact error message?

voice removal i don't think is 100% but for karaoke it is ideal and will only hear a very low volumed amount of voice which is basically how karaoke works. to try and make a filter remove more might end up removing some music as well.

Well I tried the music/voice removal again and now it's not saying anything about the doctor but it's not removing the voice/music. But Why won't it remove the voice/music? I need to know, cuz I make remixes and I need the music removal to help make a good remix!

it depends on how loud the vocal is and even then you might only achieve 70 or 80% removal. and any music centered can be lost also with the voice. even with high end audio software like Qbase and sound forge will not do a 100% job either.

to make good remixes your better off getting royalty free samples or buy some.

I tried converting again and this time it said that thing about the doctor. "DrWatson Fatal Error, DrWatson was unable to attach the process. It is possible that the process exited before DrWatson could attach it.
          Windows 2000 returned error code = 87
          The parameter is incorrect"
Please tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it.

i don't know much about win2000 but dr watson is some sort of windows system checker that has nothing to do with dbpoweramp. is it running in the task bar this dr watson? it seems to be interfering with the process.

Either DrWatson pops up or dmc starts converting but stops during the voice/music removal, which is when it's about 50% converted.

It is crashing, try converting the files to Wave 44.1Khz 16 bit stereo before running the Voice Removal.

I tried that but nothing. I watched as DMC converted the file and, just like before, it shut off at about 50%. But the strange thing was the DrWatson thing didn't pop up.

Is that 50% on one file? what happens if you try different music files?

i think Spoon means does this happen with all your cd's or music files when doing this.? or only the one your trying to do?

I've tried to do this to a lot of my files and only one has worked and that was when I ripped it from a cd.

Yes it needs to come from the CD, any converted tracks have messed up the stereo image, which is used to remove the voice.
