Aux Input - Testing Recording Level

I have just installed Music Converter and Aux Input under Window XP Home. When I'm using Testing Recording Level in Aux Input I can't set the level. The VU Meter is working fine, but when I'm clikcing on "the Red volume scale" (which is all grey) nothing happens.
My soundcard is C-Media CMI8738.

You will have to adjust the volume by clicking Options >> Input Source 'Select'
