Drive not detected: PIONEER BD-RW BDR-XD05, Mac OSX 10.10.1

When using the CD ripper I noticed the drive is not detected and there is no option to select a drive in the dropdown menu. Drive cache and C2 error pointer options are also greyed out. I created a configuration file to attach to this post but the forum won't allow me to upload a file in a .tgz format.

Due to how OSX handles optical drives, the drive is not seen by us until you actually insert an audio CD into it.
