    flac/m4a to lame mp3 => gap/gain Data?

    Hey,

    i have trouble with my multimedia system in my new car, that doesnt support flac or m4a (Itunes and Nero ACC)

    So im planning to convert my media library to mp3 with the last lame encoder.

    What happens with gain/gap informations at the flac/m4a files?
    How do I delete any gain information and keep the gap information?

    with the best regards

    can't speak to m4a, but for FLAC a conversion with mp3(lame) will retain gapless playback. Whether your *CAR* player will handle gapless playback is a different issue. It may or may not. Amazingly, car music players seem to be about 15 years behind the time in terms of technology.
