    Xing(New) vs Lame(3.93)

    Hi Folks,
Just been trying ripping the same track using different settings to try and work out which is best. If I select Very High, 320kbps, 44100Hz and I get a Lame(3.93) mp3 that sounds great. I tried the Alt insane (320kbps, 44100Hz) setting (couldn't resist) and got a very slightly bigger file that says it is Xing(New) encoded. Any ideas on what the difference is and which is the best? Cheers,

Just the encoder guesser getting confused, here it should say Lame 3.93.

Let your ears decide (if you can tell a difference), for most people anything above 160Kbps gets difficult.
