Can't convert flac to mp3 or even wav

    Hi,

I'm sure I have the right codecs installed, but whenever I try to convert a standard 16-bit flac file, I get this error message: Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\User\Desktop\01 - 4.42am (Acoustic).flac' to 'C:\Users\User\Desktop\01 - 4.42am (Acoustic)'
Error: Unable to load decoder for file type '.flac', codec not installed? visit 'Codec Central'. [dBCoreConverter::dBCoreConverter]

Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but what??! Help...

    Thanks, Malc

It is likely your security software is stopping the dll from loading or has quarantined it, check in the dBpoweramp install folder, in Decoder folder should be Flac.dll

Comodo firewall and Avast antivirus. And if it helps, I am getting the 'unable to load decoder for filetype...' error message for EVERYTHING. Should I uninstall and start again?

You can try, but if all the dlls are being blocked dBpoweramp will not be able to load any of them.

You couls also eliminate security software activity as the cause by temporarily disabling the real-time protection and trying the coversion again. Just don't forget to reset the real-time protection to its active state afterwards...

Mr. Spoon, I have uninstalled dBpoweramp, and reinstalled to a different drive (my system/SSD) - now all works perfectly! Thanks for your time and trouble.
