OK, I should have believed and bought dBpoweramp first but I didn't. I bought it and PerfectTunes now.
So, I used EAC to rip ots and lots of CDs. I (foolishly) made WAV files in a hierarchical directory structure. I now want to use dBpoweramp batch to convert to FLAC - which I now know is the way forward.
The first problem I have is with insufficient tagging, and I therefore get a lot of "Unknown Artist" problems. It's a mess.
Will all be well if I can get the metadata into the WAV files - or is this a lost cause?
