I read this thread and it seems requests for VBR mode were dismissed:
This is simply not true. VBR works just fine in LC mode. I've managed to get fdkaac compiled and working under OSX and that has provided the opportunity to test CBR and VBR modes for sound quality. VBR in "-m5" mode will produce high quality files significantly smaller in size to equivalent CBR files.
Please enable VBR and quality settings "-m1 through -m5" for fdkaac.
Thanks in advance
PS: I'm a new user to dBPoweramp and I'm quite impressed with the capabilities. There's simply no other software like it!
The VBR mode for this codec is only for very low bitrates (less than 64 kbps from memory, adding a VBR option would confuse in our opinion).
Please enable VBR and quality settings "-m1 through -m5" for fdkaac.
Thanks in advance
