Convert to M4A

I have some music stored in WMA Lossless and want to convert to M4A for use with Apple products. The WMA files that have sample rates higher than 44khz have issues after the conversion. All tags are lost as well as all information on the audio properties page. What am I doing wrong?

Try converting to wave, then play in Windows media player, does the converted wave file play audio?

Just converted to wav. It plays fine and has all tags intact.

When converting to MPA, I am doing it at 192 kbps and select LC AAC under encoder. As a test, I tried HE AAC and it worked. I was using LC AAC because I thought it was for higher bit rates?

LC is correct to use, try inserting the DSP effect 'resample' set to 44KHz or 48KHz as these are the maximum for Apple iphones, etc.
