How to prevent clipping with normalize DSP

I finally figured out how to set the Volume Normalize DSP to -18 LUFS (strange that the slider only gives negative values?)
Occasionally -18 will result in clipping. Is there a way to prevent this or be notified when it happens?

    (using DSP v11)

I do not know of a way, it is best to use a value which is less likely to clip.

That's too bad, using a different value than -18 is not an option for me. That would mean I have to redo almost my entire collection.

I haven't used dBPA in a while. The last time I used it there still was a separate normalizer for EBU R128. That one gave an error message when the peak level exceeded a chosen threshold.
Maybe I should try and see if can dig that one up somewhere.

      Thanks anyway.
