Here's my situation. I have 400+ ripped CD's that I ripped in Windows Media Player to .wav format since I wanted lossless. Now I realize that was a bad choice because of wav's poor tagging support. So I discovered dBpoweramp and have been playnig with the free trial and so far I love it. It seems to be able to convert my wav's and preserve what information is in the limited wav tags. (I am converting to WMA lossless) But one of the main reasons I want to convert is to add additional information (especially Composer) to my tracks tag information. I noticed the CD rip software is great for that showing me the available tag information from the various online databases and I can select the best from those databases for the tag information for my ripped CD's. I don't want to re-rip all my CD's I would just like to convert them from wav to WMA lossless. But I would like to be able to do the database lookup and apply the desired tag information to my converted rips. I don't see any way to do that, is it possible?
i.e. I just want to select a folder that represents the CD I ripped and converted and get the same tag editing capability I can get when I am running the dBpoweramp ripper.
Thanks for any help with this.
