    MP3 conversion: VBR vs CBR

    Hi everyone!

I am ripping my CDs but want to keep the best possible quality, for which I have in the past always selected CBR at highest rate, ie 320 kbps.

In the converter window, the way VBR is presented suggests it is the best qualitative option, but as far as I can tell it will not beyond 320 kbps (or will it?).

So, should I continue with CBR @ 320 kbps or switch to VBR (one flaw here is that players may not be able to show actual music piece duration...)

Many thanks in advance for your advice!!

The best quality an mp3 can have is 320kbps, so you are best sticking with cbr.
