    Priority - dBPowerAMP Music Converter

The dBPowerAMP Music Converter has a drop down box for setting
the process priority, however if I set it at Above Normal or High
and check Windows Task Manager, dBPowerAMP Music Converter
always shows a priority of Normal when I have started a conversion.

Is the priority in fact changed by the setting in dBPowerAMP Music
Converter and just not reflected in Windows Task Manager or is
the priority setting in dBPowerAMP Music Converter not functioning?
(Or have I missed something else?)

It seems like it doesn't reflect in task manager, but I can assure you it's working. I am trying to reply just now and it takes forever to even just open the reply windows because the conversion is taking all the processing power.

You should have gotten an e-mail with a link to download the registered version. Click on that link and install. Or download to a location on you hard drive and install from there.

Be sure to only use Normal or anything lower than that, never Above Normal, because that doesn't speed up the conversion, in fact, it just slows the conversion down.

Yes, for R12 it is such a big change you are best uninstalling R11.5 + codecs, then visit the registration retrieval page and get R12 Registered.

Re: Priority - dBPowerAMP Music Converter

I purchased dBpowerAMP 11.5 last April. I downloaded and installed the registered version of dBpowerAMP 12 but it doesn't recognize that I am a registered user. I have version 11.5 installed in C:\Program Files\illustrate\dBpowerAMP and version 12 installed in D:\Program Files\illustrate\dBpowerAMP. Could the problem be that I still have version 11.5 installed? I use dMC Auxiliary Input, which version 12 doesn't have yet, and the illustrate home page recommends keeping the old installation.

Yes, I know. That is where I got the version 12 I installed.

Also, the installation is a little weird. You must accept the "30-day trial" of the PowerPack. You should then show up as Registered in dBpowerAMP Configuration.

Are you sure? if installing Reference Registered or Power Pack registered it should really not offer a trial.

Re: Priority - dBPowerAMP Music Converter

Just bought the registered version V12 with Power Pack. I had paid for registered version 11.5.... reading the other posts, maybe I didn't have to pay again for the Power Pack, etc.

When I installed 12 (after uninstalling 11.5) it looks really good but some things on 11.5 that were cool I didn't see on the new one, like update ID Tag, Tag From Filename codecs, etc. Also with 12 when I mouse over a file I get an abbreviated readout in the comments section instead of the full paragraphs I got with 11.5.... don't know if this is by design or my own ineptitude. Any comments/help would be appreciated.

There is an option to shorten the popup see in dbpoweramp configuration.

The other utility codec you mention will appear shortly for R12.
