    Just purchased dbpoweramp, now what?

I have been using the trial version for the past 14 days.

Today after my last rip, a window popped up saying trial had expired.

I then proceeded to purchase dbpoweramp + PERFECTTunes.

My question is, should I install my registered copy of dbpoweramp over my current trial of dbpoweramp? or should I proceed to uninstall my current copy first?

I have a profile created which I want to preserve so I want to make sure I dont lose that or my (local) metadata info.

    Thanks

Uninstall then install the registered version, no settings are lost.

      Did that, worked great.

However, local metadata seems to have been lost (when I inserted a disc which I personally filled the metadata for, it showed as track 1, track 2, track 3...)

Thank God I dont need another rip cause it takes long to do (proper) metadata.

      Thanks!

Local metadata only remembers the last 10 discs, or so.

          Interesting

Is there any chance in the future this value could be increased? I wouldn't mind storing metadata for emergency purposes.

In CD Ripper >> Meta drop menu >> Settings >> Cache

you can increase it, however it was not designed to hold 1000's of discs.

Don't mean to hijack, but my question is on-topic:

I downloaded the trial version two days ago, and used it successfully (great product, thank you). So, I bought a copy of the registered R15 version today, but failed to read the directions, and did NOT uninstall the free version first. Instead, I installed the paid/registered version OVER the free version. So far, everything seems fine, but to be sure, please advise if I should leave things alone or uninstall and reinstall the registered version all over again for a clean install.

              Thanks, - Steve

Remove this dBConfig.exe file as detailed:

The 64 bit release of dBpoweramp will only work correctly with 64 bit codecs. In Codec Central the codecs which are indicated as 32 bit only will not work with the 64 bit version of dBpoweramp. CD Writer CD Writer cannot be compiled to 64 bit, it is 32 bit only.

(because your trial would have likely been 32 bit dBpoweramp 2 days ago, and your new install is 64 bit, so clear the old 32 bit config program so adding codecs will install the correct 64 bit version).

Ok, thanks Spoon. I removed the file, although it was in c: > program files/dbpoweramp, not program files (x86)/illustrate, which based on the other thread, leads me to believe I have the 64-bit version installed.

I tried launching the configuration program afterwards, but it wants the file I deleted, so I went ahead and uninstalled the entire package and reinstalled it. Anything else I should check to make sure the correct 64-bit version, with 64-bit codecs, is installed?

                  thx
