I added dsd / sacd codec to dbconverter, but the program does not seem to recognize dsd (dff) downloaded files. When I right click on the dff file, it does not give me the option to "convert." When I open the converter, navigate to folder containing dff files, the folder appears empty (although of course I know I have dff files there). I must have missed a step. Any ideas?

Re: converting DSD files
Well ... I see now they are NOT dff files. They are DSF files. They were downloaded from commercial site. I am confused. I thought all dsd files (albums purchased as dsd download) would download as dff files. I apparently am missing something fundamental here. -

Re: converting DSD files
OK. So I found a free converter to convert to flac, then used dbconverter to convert to alac. It appears I now have 192/24 alac files. They sound good (I have a 16 bit cd for a/b comparison). So first question is - how much of the original fidelity of the dsf files am I getting with the double conversion?
Second question- will dbconverter add dsf file conversion to its features any time soon? It seems commercial sites selling dsd music files opt for dsf over dff because they can include metadata in dsf ... but not in dff.Comment
