Hi,
I have bought a Mede8er MED1000X3D media player and am having issues playing DTS FLAC extracted from DTS CD's and DVD's. FLAC 5.1 files (such as extracted from DVD-A or SACD) play fine via my Onkyo amp and the HDMI output from the Mede8er is set to passthrough.
This is the Media Info for the DTS FLAC that produces white noise :
Format : FLAC
Format/Info : Free Lossless Audio Codec
File size : 35.9 MiB
Duration : 3mn 58s
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
Overall bit rate : 1 264 Kbps
Album : Stiff Upper Lipe Live DVD (5.1 DTS FLAC)
Album/Performer : AC/DC
Performer : AC/DC
Genre : Rock
Cover : Yes
Cover type : Cover (front)
Cover MIME : image/jpeg
Audio

Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 1 262 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Stream size : 35.8 MiB (100%)
Writing library : libFLAC 1.2.1 (UTC 2007-09-17)
Both types of file play back perfectly via my Oppo blu ray play so I am guessing that even though I am sending bitstream to the amp using the Mede8er there is some problem with the DTS decoding to 5.1 ???
Any idea what format I can convert the files to which will preserve the 5.1 channels ? Preferably not WAV due to the metadata limitations.
Many thanks, hope I have explained myself properly :smile2:
