New User Question: Issues With Music Converter

I am a new (full license) DBpoweramp user. I have downloaded and installed the application, including the CD Burner. The installation seems to have gone fine (I've done it a second time, and the install tells me I am already on the most current release).

However, when I use Windows explorer (I am on XP, SP3), I do not see the "Convert To" options when I highlight and then right click an audio file that I want to convert to another file format.

If I go into the Start menu, then click on programs, then "dbpoweramp" in the program list, I see application icons for Music Converter, CD Ripper, and CD Burner. If I click on the Music Converter icon, it takes me directly to Windows Explorer, where I encounter the issue described above. I have not been able to go beyone this point.

If I use Windows Explorer to navigate the Windows "Program Files" folder on the C Drive, I see a dbpoweramp subfolder. The only item / icon in the subfolder is an "dbpoweramp-CD Writer" icon. If I double click on this icon, it takes me to a "Run" dialog box, where I am asked if I want to run "dbpoweramp-CD Writer.exe"?

I have been able to use the CD mix and burn application without problem.

Any help you can provide me in getting the Music Converter app to work will be appreciated. This is the primary reason that I purchased DBPowerAmp.

    Thanks!

Which security software do you have? it sounds very much like your security software has stopped the installer writing the files to the correct location (often they can sandbox an application, so it thinks it is installing correctly but all files are really being deleted by the security software).

I use Norton Security Suite. I could turn Norton off during the install to see if that helps. However, I have downloaded many purchased software programs in the past and have never had a problem with Norton deleting the installation files.

Try to disable it, pretty much most virus detection software at some point has detected a vital component of Windows as a virus, over the last 15 years...they constantly get it wrong.
