dMC not recognizing 24-bit file, can't transcode ALAC to FLAC but other software can

There's a thread over in the Slim Devices / Logitech / Squeezebox forum that describes the details (see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...Apple-Lossless), but here's the short version:

    - Peter Gabriel's "Courage" release (two versions of a song left off of "So") is available for download as Apple Lossless (https://petergabriel.com/audio/631/courage/)
    - when using dBpa Music Converter to transcode to FLAC the result is a lot of high frequency hiss, with a hint of the track very faint underneath
    - foobar2000 can successfully transcode the tracks from Apple Lossless to FLAC, and it seems faad2 can as well
    - the "Courage" files are 24-bit, a fact that foobar2000 and faad2 (and iTunes) seem to recognize, but that dBpa Music Converter seems to miss, which may be the cause for the faulty transcoding to FLAC

Just wanted to bring it to your (spoon's) attention, as I trust it's something that could be fixed without too much difficulty.

Install R15 (which is in the testing section of this forum), these ALAC files they are 24 bit, but they are encoded wrong (they are encoded indicating 16 bit and 24 bit, instead of just 24 bit, the R15 is able to correct for this error).

      Thanks, I'll give R15 a spin.
