Spoon,
I gotta tell you, I'm rather dissappointed in the included MP3 (lame) codec that I purchased with dMC and powerpack. I have set it at the highest settings and am getting noticeable distortion or clipping with certain notes on every song. I'm about to embark on a huge conversion project and this is unacceptable. I am having to using your wonderful 'convert to AIFF' codec, then network the file over to my Mac and convert the AIFF to mp3 using iTunes 4.0.1, the best sounding MP3 codec I've heard to date in terms of exact duplication...(ACELP?) I don't know whats up here, but its disheartening after purchasing your app mainly for Lame and finally settling on a codec I thought I could trust. I'm sure Lame can be good, but whatever I have in this package is not! Any chance of my setting it up wrong? I really doubt it cause the dMC's conversion to AIFF is flawless and no distortion. I'm sorry to say I won't dare use this to archive my musical rarities collection unless you have a quick solution. And I hate to diss such an excellent overall versatile app, but I feel you should know about this cause I'm going back to iTunes despite the hassle of cross-platforming. Now if you could just tell us what a more confidential complaints dept email address is, I wouldn't have to make my complaints so public.
thanks
