    WMA conversion

I have a massive folder of around 400,000 WMA lossless files (songs). I've spent LOTS of time organizing them, editing (in Windows Media Player) information such as album artist, album art, rating, genre.

I now want to convert all of these files to MP3, and I'd like to use dbpoweramp to do it. But before going ahead and undertaking this project, I wanted to ensure that the converter will convert all tag information (mainly album artist, album art, rating, genre). I've tried other converters and they do not carry over much of this information. Please advise. Many thanks!

Run a test batch to make sure that all the tags are properly applied. Tweak tag mappings, if necessary. It's always a good idea to run tests batches, anyway, before processing an entire library.

(Remember that once you delete those carefully-groomed lossless files, they are lost forever. You may want to save an archive before conversion, in case you ever need to replace any of the mp3s or want lossless options again in the future.)

Sure it is lossless? It is that folder above 5 TB or so?

ID3 has some quirks (and likely WMA has too), so you might not get everything through.

(You are not going to discard your lossless files? If your issue is merely that WMAL is an obsolete format, then you can losslessly convert to FLAC.)
