Year tag in WAV not recognized by WMP11

I'm converting my music collection to WAV and using DMC to update the following ID tags:
    - Artist
    - Title
    - Album
    - Track
    - Year
    - Genre

Everything works in the Window/Vista file system but when I add the albums to the Window Media Player libray it displays 'Unkown Year' for every album even though the 'Year' tag is consistently added to every file in that collection.

Does any else experience this or have any suggestions?

    Thanx.

ICRD is the tag we use to store year, perhaps WMP cannot read year from wave tags?

Thanx for your reply Spoon but not familiar with the term ICRD - what does that translate to?

It is the value used in the WAVE LIST tag, values are represented by 4 characters.

If your are referring to the RIFF info tag specification for WAV files doesn't ICRD translate to 'DateCreated' and if so maybe Windows Media Player is only accepting the YEAR tag ID from that file format?

That is the closest tag in the LIST info tag we can find.
