    Settings for Windows 8

    Spoon,
I just installed dB on a new Windows 8 computer and was surprised to find that I can use the compressed settings again for music. The only thing is I find that there is no MPEG-Layer 3 installed instead I have PCM with a few new ones I've not seen before. Is this normal.
    Thanks

Yes as it is Microsoft who decides what system codecs to install. For MPEG-Layer 3 you are best using the wave-mp3 option on the wave encoder page (as internally it uses Lame as the encoder which is way better than anything Microsoft ever included previously).
