.WAV to iTunes

I'm sure this has been addressed before but my issue is I ripped about 250 CDs to an external hard drive on my PC using Windows Media Player as .WAV files. Now when I move them to iTunes the ID Tags are not recognized however they are recognized by Windows Media Player. Is there a way to fix this so I can move these albums into iTunes quickl? thanks

Try convert on file to aiff, then import that to iTunes.

I created the WAV files for the quality, will the aiff format maintain the highest quality level?

both are lossless (audio is bitperfect back to original ripped CD). No loss in quality.
