Audio CD Input will not function on Windows XP

I have used dbPoweramp on Windows 98 with no problems. On Widows XP Audio CD Input will not run properly. The menu at the upper left corner will not display and I cannot configure it to use the appropriate CD Communication mode. The NT/2000 DeviceIO option does not appear in the drop-down menu. How do I resolve these problems? I thank you in advance for any assistance provided.
