Yeah ... by buying the album instead of piratebaying it?

There are frequency cutoffs that can give away a track as having been through an mp3 conversion (though the algorithms that test it are becoming less reliable as the encoders are getting smarter, I think), but sometimes even artists record to mp3, out of ignorance. It may be as real as you can get it even if it has been mp3'ed.
