    CD Conversion stalls at 18%

When I try to copy file from my CD drive to my IRiver iFP-T390, it always stalls at 18%. But I can always copy the entire CD to my C: drive and then copy the files from there to my iRiver (Removable Drive G. Any ideas?

When it stalls, is it the whole computer that crashes, or just dBpowerAMP.

Just dBpowerAMP... basically the progress bar always stops at 18% and I have to abort the program. No OS problems, however.

One other bit of info...when it stalls, it always leaves a temp file (.XXXXX) in the target directory.

      Thanks for your help.

What compression type are you using on the iRiver?

MP3 Lame Version 3.92, Kbps. Perhaps I need to roll back to 3.70?

Oops, I meant to say 192 Kbps. It is Lame version 3.92.

Out of interest try converting to WMA on the iRiver, see if that freezes (I think it will be the writing of the file somehow to the iRiver, perhaps because it is being written slowly).
